SPOKANE, Wash.- The Pacific University women’s football team lost points on the road when they fell 3-0 to Whitworth on Saturday afternoon.

Pacific (3-6-1, 1-5-1 NWC) went goalless for the second straight competition, recording just six shots with three on target. Whitworth (6-3-2, 3-2-2 NWC) was comfortable in her home seat and created a variety of chances with 12 shots and nine on the frame.

The two teams couldn’t find a net in the first half, but the Pirates scored three goals in the last 45 minutes and took the win.

Whitworth’s Savannah Acpal opened the goal shortly after kick-off in the second half when she finished a Gabriella Coprivnicar cross to give her team a 1-0 lead.

For almost 40 minutes, the teams would struggle to find clear scoring opportunities before Whitworth scored their second goal. Coprivnicar doubled their lead in the 86th minute and finished with the third and final goal in the 89th minute to score all three points for their side.
