PORTLAND, Oregon (KOIN) – The Portland metropolitan area broke multiple high temperature records last weekend, and the region is set to see a third day of record breaking temperatures.
In fact, the projected high for Monday in Portland is 113 degrees, compared to 112 degrees on Sunday and 108 degrees on Saturday. Fortunately, despite the potential for another broken record, cooler temperatures will set in across the region from Monday evening.

So how do people stay cool in this extreme heat? There are cooling shelters in the Portland and Vancouver area, along with splash pads all over Portland, and many others go to malls and libraries to brave the heat.
