(WEST JEFFERSON, Ohio) – Four people were killed in a fatal shootout on an apartment in suburban Ohio on Monday.

Three victims were found in an apartment on Jackson Street in West Jefferson, a suburb near Columbus, and one more person was found outside, West Jefferson police chief Chris Jefferson told reporters per local ABC subsidiary on Monday WSYX.

The victims have not yet been identified and the police have not released a motive for the attack.

Police said a passerby called 911 around 5:30 p.m. Monday, and when officers arrived at the scene, they started looking for a suspect.

Cops said they believe the shooting occurred between 1pm and 5:30 pm on Monday.

Officials said the house was in a remote area on a cul-de-sac.

“We don’t know if it’s a robbery, a target, we don’t know yet.” Floyd said WSYX reported. “Something has brought someone to a dead end.”

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office are assisting the West Jefferson Police Department with the investigation.

Floyd told reporters Monday that years have passed since the last murder in West Jefferson.

So far, no one has been arrested in the shootings on Monday.
