WSU Everett Evacuated Due To Gas Line Break – Everett Post

EVERETT – Just after 3:00 p.m. yesterday (Mon. Oct. 18), Everett Community College alerted Washington State University Everett campus of an apparent gas line rupture at the Cascade Learning Resource Center construction site, located in the same parking lot as the WSU -Satellite Campus is located in North Everett.

EvCC suggested that the campus should be evacuated immediately, which led to an announcement on the WSU Everett Twitter account: “#EverCougs, due to a gas pipe break on the construction site behind the WSU Everett, we are evacuating the WSU Everett immediately as a precaution. Please pack your belongings securely so that we can close the building. The campus will be closed for the rest of the day. “

According to WSU Everett, Puget Sound Energy repaired the gas line later that evening. WSU Everett opened punctually on Friday morning and no further courses were canceled.
