EVERETT – Start planning your beach days on Jetty Island now.

Reservations are officially open for passenger ferries running July 5th through Labor Day. Except for Mondays after Independence Day and Labor Day, the service runs from Wednesdays to Sundays.

The Jetty Island Days program, formerly operated solely by the City of Everett, is run in partnership with the Port of Everett and Snohomish County.

The port is funding the program’s $ 100,000, or at least anything that’s not covered by the new $ 3 per passenger. Children under the age of 2 can travel for free. Previously, the ferry operated a donation system that represented a permanent net expense of around $ 80,000 for the city.

Reservations are helpful for social distancing on the ship and guarantee someone on the boat. The port offers discounted parking fees of $ 2 for passengers from Jetty Island for up to eight hours.

But with the reservation system come new rules and penalties for late cancellations and no-shows. Passengers are expected to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time they have reserved or their seats may be given to someone in line. Individuals who cancel their trip six days or less prior to their scheduled trip will receive a refund minus the transaction fee and $ 4 per booking.
