SPOKANE, Washington – Two Spokane parks will soon have new playgrounds.

AM Cannon and Logan Peace Parks will each receive new play equipment to replace the obsolete and damaged equipment currently in place.

Construction will begin this month and is expected to take a few weeks.

Spokane City Council is funding approximately $ 160,000 worth of equipment.

“Working with the city council to replace these playgrounds with brand new equipment is a huge win for our neighborhood families, and we’re grateful for their collaboration,” said Garrett Jones, director of Parks and Recreation.

“Children in these two neighborhoods lost some of their playground equipment during the pandemic.

AM Cannon’s play structure includes two types of slides, climbing walls and poles, wheels, and a spinner. The Logan Peace Park gets two slide slides, several climbers, wheels, a telescope and a skylight.

The playgrounds were due to be installed last summer, but delays in the availability of play equipment have put the schedule off by a few months.
