NEW COMMIT: The University of Las Vegas, Nevada has received its first oral commitment for the 2022-23 season and beyond from Futures qualifiers Averi Webb from Seattle, Washington.
She said Swimming World:
“I’m so excited and grateful to be part of the UNLV swim team for the next season! I chose UNLV because of the rigor and emphasis placed on both athletics and academics. I had the wonderful opportunity to visit campus and work with the coaches and it was a great experience. I’m looking forward to working closely with the trainers and I’m looking forward to being part of this great program! “
Primarily a sprinter, Webb trains year-round with the Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club, and last month won 50m free in the Western Zone Seniors. She also set a best time at the Four Corner Sectionals in March.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 24.28
- 100 free – 53.10
- 100 back – 57.65
- 200 free – 1.56.60
Webb, who also competed for Garfield High School, finished seventh in the 100 vacancies and eighth in the 50 vacancies at the Washington 3A State Championships as a freshman.
Webb will add valuable depth both individually and in season when she signs up for the Rebels as a member of the Class of 2026.
