These new at-home test kits provide results in just ten minutes, according to Spokane Regional Health District officials.

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) announced that it has approved households through the Say Yes! COVID test test challenge at home.

These test kits are self-administered and are now available in Spokane County. According to SRHD this is Say Yes! The COVID test encourages residents to use the tests to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and keep the community safe and healthy. Spokane County residents can order test kits online and have them delivered to your home for free while supplies last.

Spokane County Health Officer Dr. Francisco Velázquez said that children, adolescents and adults who are not vaccinated need more accessible tools to make their decisions. These free and self-conducted tests will offer members of the community another opportunity to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

“As the holidays approach, these tests can help you make informed decisions about meeting friends and family,” said Dr. Velazquez.

SRHD reported that the Say Yes! The COVID test is a cooperation between the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), community partners, the test manufacturer Quidel and the health technology company CareEvolution.

The tests only require users to put a quick swab in each nostril. The test results are then available in just ten minutes. SRHD is asking participants to report positive test results to the Washington State Department of Health by calling (800) 525-0127 and pressing #.
