SPOKANE, Wash. – A child was rushed to hospital after a shooting in a northeastern Spokane neighborhood while riding a bike home from a friend’s house.
Just after midnight on Sunday, Spokane police responded to a shooting in the E. Nebraska Ave area. and N Helena St.
Witnesses, including an off-duty police officer, reported seeing a group of teenagers walking in the area before hearing several gunshots. The police said the off duty officer found a child with a gunshot wound.
The child was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the boy was riding a bicycle home from a friend’s house when they ran into a group of teenagers. The shooting occurred during the encounter.
