VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) – NLight Inc. (LASR) reported a loss of $ 7.9 million in the second quarter on Thursday.
On the basis of one share, the Vancouver, Washington-based company reported a loss of 19 cents. Adjusted for stock option expenses and amortization costs, earnings are 9 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street’s expectations. The average estimate by three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was earnings of 8 cents per share.
The laser maker had sales of $ 69.1 million for the period, which also exceeded Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $ 66.4 million.
For the current quarter, which ends in October, nLight expects sales between 68 and 74 million US dollars.
The NLight share has lost a little more than 2% since the beginning of the year. In the last few minutes of trading on Thursday, the stock hit $ 31.89, up 34% over the past 12 months.
