Medford L. ‘Bud’ Everett Jr., patient, quiet, kind

Medford L. “Bud” Everett Jr., 89, of Lewes died on Tuesday September 16, 2021 under the care of Beebe Healthcare. He was born on March 16, 1932 in Newark, the son of the late Medford L. Sr. and Madeline. born Lankford Everett.

He was a US Air Force veteran. He has married his beloved mistress, Rebecca Neave, for 59 years and they raised three children together. After a career spanning over 30 years, he retired from General Foods. Bud was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 534, and loved hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was an avid football and baseball fan, and loved the Eagles and Phillies.

Bud was very patient, calm, and kind. His family describes him as a very sweet and happy man who was great fun to be with. In addition to his parents, Bud went on to have two siblings before his wife Rebecca in 2017: Patsy Aiken and Robert Everett and a son-in-law: Kenny White in 2018.

Bud leaves behind his three children: Elizabeth Culver (Todd) from Georgetown, Laura White from Elkton, Md., And Kristi Dobak (Rob) from Lewes. His siblings also survive: Isabelle Robinson from Wilmington, Joyce Jerman from Seaford, Phyllis Tweed from Newark and Wallace Everett from Delmar. He also leaves nine grandchildren: Kristyn, Matt, Kenny, Brian, Amber, Kelsey, Michael, Carli, and Mason; and seven great-grandchildren: Jace, Kohen, Xzavier, Matt, Santana, Karter and Silas. Two of Bud’s special friends are: Dave Whaley and Gene Lankford, also known as the Breakfast Club.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 27 at 11:30 am at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro, with viewing and viewing times of 10 am to 11:30 am. The funeral follows with Air Force Honors at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests commemorative contributions to The Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.
