Hit and run in Spokane Valley sends drivers to hospital on Christmas morning

A driver was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Spokane Valley on Saturday morning.

The driver of a 2008 Subaru Outback was reportedly headed north on Pines Road when he allegedly failed to stop at a red light and hit a 2000 Chevy Blazer heading east on Sprague Avenue, according to Washington State Patrol.

The driver of the blazer, David Weir, 65, of Valleyford, was rushed to MultiCare Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley.

The outback driver and passenger are said to have run, said trooper Ryan Senger, a WSP spokesman. The police did not find the two people until Saturday evening, he said.
