Sounders FC, Virginia Mason, the City of Seattle, Lumen Field, and First & Goal Inc. are all offering vaccinations to eligible fans.
SEATTLE – Fans attending Seattle Sounders’ home games at Lumen Field can get their COVID-19 vaccine while they’re at it.
Starting Sunday May 2, people 18 and over participating in a Sounders home game will be able to get free COVID-19 recordings with no appointments required. Vaccinations are possible from the end of the game when the gates open.
Fans can choose to have the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in one dose or the first dose of the Moderna vaccine. Those who receive the Moderna can schedule their second dose at any vaccination center in town.
“It was an amazing feeling to have fans at Lumen Field again this season,” said Peter Tomozawa, Owner and President of Business Operations at Sounders FC. “We didn’t reach this point by accident, however, and the science behind fighting COVID-19 with vaccination is a science our club believes in and wholeheartedly supports. We’re excited to be working with our friends at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Lumen Field, First & Goal Inc., and the City of Seattle to bring our fans this opportunity, and we encourage anyone who hasn’t gotten a shot, so whether at a Sounders Match or elsewhere in the community.
“We want to get back to normal as soon as possible, with a full stadium that sings, cheers and celebrates with the team in person, but that can only happen if we are all willing to take on our own items – including vaccinations and vaccinations.” continue to mask and follow health protocols. “
There are two vaccination sites: the West Field Plaza outside of Section 140 and the East Main Concourse outside of Section 104.
Vaccinations are given by the Seattle Fire Department. Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is providing staff and volunteers to assist with the process.
On April 29th, Sounders FC announced that all players and support staff on the First Team are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19. All Tacoma Defiance players and their support staff who are eligible for the vaccination will also be vaccinated.
