Amazon Air launches first Air Gateway in Spokane, Washington

SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE) – Amazon begins operations today at its new gate at Spokane International Airport in Spokane, Washington. This is the second Amazon Air location in the state. The first flight on Amazon Air’s 737 freighter, operated by Sun Country Airlines, will arrive from Fairbanks International Airport tonight. The service continues daily.

This announcement follows the opening of a second Amazon fulfillment center in the Spokane area last month and plans to open a delivery station and sorting center adjacent to the fulfillment center in Airway Heights in 2022. Amazon’s continued investment in the Spokane area will give the company more opportunities to react to future network requirements and also to open up local economic opportunities. Amazon has created more than 80,000 jobs in Washington and invested more than $ 129 billion in the state from 2010 to 2020, including infrastructure and compensation for its employees.
