Almost 8,600 Avista customers without power in the Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Washington – Nearly 8,600 Avista customers experienced power outages in and around Spokane Valley early Monday.

About 1,000 people in East Central Spokane were without electricity. Most of the failures were reported in the Spokane Valley.

Avista reported the outages just before 2:30 a.m.

The power supply should be restored on Monday at around 5.15 a.m.

The cause is being investigated.
