Woman arrested, accused of stealing from dozens of gyms

EVERETT, Washington (AP) – A Marysville woman accused of stealing and using credit cards from dozens of gyms in West Washington has been arrested.

The 23-year-old woman was sent to Snohomish County Jail in Everett to investigate more than 55 crimes, The Daily Herald reported.

Two people called police in March to report that their belongings had been stolen from two Marysville gyms, according to charges. The next day, a gym employee reported seeing a warning when the woman – suspected of stealing from LA fitness locations – scanned her membership card.

An investigation by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office found she had stolen credit cards, car keys and bags from lockers, the charges state. Law enforcement agencies in King, Pierce and Skagit counties, as well as the Tulalip Tribal Police Department, also had cases of suspicion of the woman.

She was arrested earlier this month and told police that there was a gun in a bag that she had stolen, according to the indictment. She has been charged with two counts of firearm theft, illegal possession of a firearm, and second degree identity theft. She was sent to prison and released on bail.

But she allegedly used stolen bank cards to shop at a Fred Meyer in Lynnwood on Wednesday and was arrested again, the charges state.

On Friday afternoon, she was in jail on bail of $ 417,000.
