William “Bill” D Barker | Port Townsend Leader

William “Bill” D Barker

Bill was born April 4, 1929 in Idaho City, Idaho and passed away peacefully on July 3, 2022, in Vancouver, Washington. He is survived by his loving wife Fran. It brings us joy to know he is in a better place and free from the physical hindrances of this world.

Together Bill and Fran had a beautiful blended family, including Bill’s seven children and Fran’s six children and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. They shared a life making beautiful memories together.

Bill enjoyed owning and operating Barker’s Country Store in Port Ludlow, Wash. for many years. He was a retired from Weyerheuser Co. and was an Army veteran. He was an outdoorsman and noted for his quick wit. He loved a spirited game of Pinochle, family gatherings, fishing, gardening, animals, and bird watching. He was best known for his famous sourdough pancakes. Sitting on his porch smoking his pipe, listening to classical music was a fond place to be.

He will be missed greatly by those who loved him. Memories will live in our hearts forever.
