The victim’s phone was destroyed during the attack and the (robber) forcibly grabbed the victim’s iPad Pro and ran away. “The victim was examined for minor injuries by SFD. No arrest and no description in the report.

A reader report today:

GARAGE BREAK-IN: After an early morning garage break-in, Hans I got back some of the stolen items, but a Santa Cruz mountain bike is still missing (photo and bike details here). His report:

Someone broke into our detached garage near the West Seattle water tower at 5:51:20 a.m. this morning and left at 5:56:20 a.m. Upon arrival, they inspected the car windows and then broke into the garage – we immediately heard the garage calling the police at 5:52 am.

The burglars stayed in the garage for 5 minutes while the police investigated the situation. They rode the stolen bicycles with sacks of goods to Manning (see list below). The police were able to intercept both around the 37th and Manning, where they deposited and scattered goods. One dropped a bicycle (presumably because of a flat tire) and walked through the Belvedere district, the other went to the pedestrian bridge. They left several items, including a bike they came on and items from other houses they broke into. They emptied a hockey bag (important: breaking the most sacred unwritten rules by getting in close contact with a hockey jockstrap / athletic fanatic). The police did not take a fingerprint but did a report.

Stolen items: monitor, 2 bikes, power tools, hockey bag (with 1 single hockey skate, hockey shin guards, bluetooth speakers) and a pair of jerseys.

The police recovered 1 bike, monitor and tools and hockey equipment, but the mountain bike is still missing.

A Nest camera was switched on in the garage (video); Both suspects appear to be wearing a t-shirt and sweatshirt combination and hats.

Police report # is 20-062504.
