Montreal-raised DJ and producer Kaytranada won a one-two at a pre-broadcast event streamed on the Grammys website

The native Louis Celestin won the best dance recording for “10%” and the best dance or electronic album for “Bubba”.

Shawn Everett, raised in Bragg Creek, Alta., Won a Grammy for Best Constructed Album Not Classic for Beck’s “Hyperspace”. Everett shares the award with a team of colleagues who worked on the album.

Jim (Kimo) West, the Toronto-born guitarist of “Weird Al” Yankovic, grabbed the best new age Grammy album for his solo work “More Guitar Stories”.

A musical adaptation of Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill” won Best Musical Theater Album for the main singers and producers involved in the project.

Most of the 84 awards are presented in the webcast.

Pop superstar Justin Bieber leads the local nominees with four nominations. He fights for categories like the best pop vocal album for “Changes” and the best pop solo performance for his song “Yummy”.

Other main competitors are Song of the Year nominee JP Saxe, who shares his honor with girlfriend Julia Michaels for her duet “If the World Was Ending,” and producer Frank Dukes, born Adam Feeney, whose post-Malone work for both both the record and the album received recognition of the year.

Already a two-time winner, Kaytranada will be competing for the best new artist on the Grammys show tonight.
