“We’re now more than midway through the 2021 legislature, debating and voting on important issues that will undoubtedly affect families in the 17th District and across the state. It is important that we hear from citizens, inform them of changes in the law and receive their questions, comments and contributions to the meeting, ”said Kraft. “The town hall is run virtually online so that people can participate comfortably from home.”

The remote town hall meeting will be held on Monday March 15 at 6:30 p.m. via the Zoom platform. Anyone wishing to attend the hour-long event must pre-register for the conference by going to one of the following three legislative websites:

“I look forward to meeting the people of the 17th arrondissement again, albeit from a distance,” said Harris. “This will be a great opportunity for us as lawmakers to listen to our voters and get a feel for what they are going through and what is most important to them right now. I look forward to hearing from you and am willing to listen and learn. “

“I will be ready to keep our constituents informed of the state budget situation as the majority has put a long list of tax proposals on the table, despite the fact that there is no budget deficit and likely a large amount of federal money will arrive in our state. Additionally, Republicans have already proposed budgets that do all sorts of good things without the need for more taxes, ”said Wilson, who is the Senate Republican budget head. “Also, this meeting is even more topical now that the Senate majority has passed an income tax law. Our voters need to know what that means to them and why I am against it. “

The conference can only accommodate the first 500 participants, so participants should register early. Participants can also register online at tinyurl.com/17th-town-hall.

The 2021 legislative period began on January 11th and is expected to end on April 25th.
