SPOKANE, Washington – Sprague Avenue is now fully open.

The city of Spokane reopened Sprague from Division to Grant Street over the weekend, marking the completion of a year-long series of projects that have revitalized the street between Division and Stone.

“We are delighted to see travelers return to this section of East Sprague and thank the companies once again for their patience,” said Marlene Feist, Director of Public Works. “With this project, we are completing improvements to a nearly 2-mile stretch of Sprague that runs through the South University District and the Sprague Union District, offering new opportunity and growth.”

The city invested more than $ 11 million to build the East Sprague Corridor.

The project included rebuilding the road, repairing and replacing water and sewer lines, improved walkways, new lighting and landscaping, and updated bus stops. This included building the University District Gateway Bridge and expanding the Ben Burr Trail.
