TAL acquires Bayview Building Materials from Elma

Vancouver, Washington – TAL Holdings, a home improvement company with 15 stores and seven operating brands in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana, has entered into an agreement in principle to acquire Bayview Building Materials of Elma, located in Elma, Washington.

After a transition period, Bayview will open on January 31st as part of the TAL family of brands.

Bayview Lumber Company was founded in Elma in 1964 by Robert E. Bush and Vic Druzianich. Robert E. Bush received a Congressional Medal of Honor in World War II and was included in Tom Brokaw’s book The Greatest Generation. In 1985, Robert’s son Rick Bush bought Bayview Lumber Co. In 2003, Rick Jensen and Jim Depretto bought Bayview in Elma.

Bayview was founded as a full-service hardware store and timber warehouse and serves the building material needs of builders, renovators and do-it-yourselfers. Jensen and Depretto expanded their activities in Elma and now have a 12,000 square meter sales showroom and 3 hectare wood storage area to meet the area’s building materials needs.
