Boys diving

State 4A

Luke Vlases of Mount Rainier finished fifth in Class 4A state action held at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way on Thursday, racking up a score of 311.80 points.

Ben Leonardo took eight for Kennedy Catholic with 266.95 points.

Both divers are juniors.

Boy swimming

State 2A

Highline sophomore Dylan Carr sped to a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke Saturday morning with his time of 53.00 seconds.

Chip Swarner took a third and a fourth for Tyee.

The junior placed third in the 100 butterfly in 52.97 and fourth in the 200 individual medley with a 2:02.85 effort.

State 3A

Ballard placed 17th in the 400 free relay Friday to just miss the consolation finals, posting a time of 3:24.94.

The Beavers were seeded 20th going into the meet.

Boys basketball

Seattle Prep 65, West Seattle 54

West Seattle’s stay at the Sea-King District Class 3A tournament ended with Friday’s loss to the Panthers at Bellevue College.

Eastside Catholic 46, Ballard 26

The Beavers also saw their season end with a Sea-King District loss Friday at Bellevue College.

Bremerton 83, Highline 67

Highline was beaten in Bremerton in a high scoring game Friday to end its District 2/3 Class 2A tournament run.

Girls basketball

Lake Washington 69, West Seattle 41

The Wildcats finished fourth in Sea-King District action with a Saturday afternoon loss to the Kangaroos in the Bellevue College gymnasium.

West Seattle still advances to 3A state regional play next weekend at a date, time and place to be announced.
