Spokane’s father arrested for selling fentanyl pills after overdosing on a one-year-old daughter

Before his daughter’s death, the SPD had been investigating Marusic for months and even set up four separate undercover operations in September to buy from him.

SPOKANE, Wash. – A Spokane father was accused of trading lethal pills after his 17-month-old daughter overdosed on fentanyl.

31-year-old Frank Marusic is said to have sold “Blue Mexi” pills, which are counterfeit oxycodone tablets.

Before his daughter’s death, the Spokane Police Department (SPD) had been investigating Marusic for months and even set up four separate undercover operations to buy from him in September.

He was arrested on December 16 after the Spokane County coroner found a fatal dose of fentanyl in his daughter’s body.

According to court records, the girl’s mother found her limp, pale and unconscious. Then she called out to the roommates to call 9-1-1.

The father, Marusic, gave Narcan to his daughter and witnesses told police he was concerned that she was “caught up in something”.

The baby was then taken to hospital with a serious brain injury.

According to court records, her parents did not show up at the hospital until a day later. Then her ventilator was removed and she died on December 7th. Doctors told police the parents had not provided a reasonable explanation for their injury.

The girl’s four-year-old brother was interviewed by a child specialist and said his sister had been given a pill that her father had given her. When asked what color the pill was, he pointed to blue plasticine in the room.

Marusic has been charged with the murder of controlled substances and the sale of a controlled substance on three counts. He’s sitting in the Spokane County Jail on a $ 1 million bond.
