SPOKANE, Washington – If you hear more planes overhead this week, don’t worry.

Starting Monday, Spokane International Airport will close its primary runway for routine maintenance.

The temporary closings are from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. every day. During this time, departing and arriving flights use the secondary runway for operations.

The use of the secondary runway requires air traffic to flow more in an east-west direction, which leads to additional air traffic over parts of the city that are not routinely flown over.

If it breaks your sleep, know that it won’t last long. The work should be completed on Friday.
