The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the man who was shot dead in an apartment near the medical center as Malcolm Ray Everett, 25.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, a 43-year-old man said he shot Everett in self-defense during an altercation around 2 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Addison Apartments at 2810 Babcock Road.
The man told police that he and Everett came to the apartment complex with two women after they had had a drink and started arguing. The man said that according to police, Everett kept charging towards him to fight.

The man said he eventually asked one of the women to give him his gun and warned Everett to leave him alone before shooting him, police said. Everett is said to have been charged again, and the 43-year-old shot him once in the chest, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found Everett next to a white Suburban while the man was arguing with two women in the SUV.
Everett was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to the police, a witness recorded the incident. No charges were brought until Monday morning.
