Spokane Indian Willie MacIver Homer beat Eugene for the third time in five games

Willie MacIver scored a solo home run for the fifth time of the season, and the visiting Spokane Indians beat the Eugene Emeralds 4-2 in the fifth of a six-game High A West series on Saturday at PK Park.

The Indians (9-14) have played three of the five games in the series so far. The defeat brings Eugene (14: 9) with Vancouver to second place in the league.

Spokane struck first in the second inning when Niko Decolati hit two with a two-out single. Kyle Datres increased the lead with his first home run in the fourth inning, a solo shot.

MacIver’s insurance strike took place on the sixth.

Indian starter David Hill (1-1) allowed two deserved runs with two hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over six innings. Derrik Watson, PJ Poulin and Shelby Lackey all raised an inning of goalless relief. Lackey earned his fourth save.

Will Wilson and Javeyan Williams met solo homers for Eugene.
