Smith Center wins every set at State en route to first title

DODGE CITY, Kansas (Catch it Kansas) – Smith Center came to Dodge City with an easy goal and ended the weekend as a Class 2A frontrunner by winning their first ever state volleyball championship.

In her five games over the two days, the Lady Red didn’t drop a single set and won the final against Hillsboro 25-23, 25-12. You finish the year on a 43-2 grade.

“I still don’t think we just won, like for me, having the chance to say every year of my high school career and then just winning it with a group of girls as young as we are here is just surreal to do that to me, ”said Lady Red Senior Tallon Rentschler after the win.

Garden Plain finished third, defeating Ellinwood in three straight sets.
