Shelley G. Organ died peacefully with her family on July 26, 2021. She was 79 years old.
She was born on October 28, 1941 in Colfax to John H. Redmond and Dorothy V. Redmond (McClure).
She lived her entire life in Colfax, Washington, where she graduated from Colfax High School in 1959. In 1962 she married Donald W. Organ. Together they had a blended family with five children. She spent most of her life as a housewife and mother, intermittently working at the Rose Theater, Montgomery Ward (a catalog store in Colfax) and Jennings Elementary as a playground and kitchen helper.
She also offered babysitting services for friends and family. She loved to sew, read, cook and swim. Her favorite vacation destination was Cannon Beach, Oregon.
She leaves behind her five children: Donna (Gary) Burger from Burleson, Texas, Bonnie (Jeff) Laramee from Eugene, Oregon, Matthew (Julie) Organ from Ewan, Washington, Gayle (Chris) Larson from Saint Mary’s, Idaho, and Charles ( Kelli) Organ of Spokane, Washington. She also leaves her sister Mary Anne Birr of Vancouver, Washington, 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren
Her mother, her father, her husband Don, her stepfather Emmett Jahnke, her sister Judy and her brother William preceded her in death.
At her request, there will be no church service, but a family gathering to share her ashes with her husband’s.
She requested that all memorials be made to the Colfax Fire Department or the Whitman County Library System
