Several Seattle restaurants, bars require customers to show vaccination proof

SEATTLE (KOMO) – Many restaurants have signs that read “No shirts, no shoes, no service”. In Seattle they add “No Shots”.

More and more restaurants in the city are requiring their guests to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test before they eat.

It is estimated that three dozen bars and restaurants in the Seattle area are enforcing the policy.

Large local organizers such as the PAX West Gaming Convention are also preparing to present a vaccination certificate from the guests.

Musang Restaurant is a popular spot for people who are new or big fans of Filipino food.

“Our job is to educate and promote Filipino cuisine,” said owner Melissa Miranda.

With more than 20 employees, Miranda wants to make sure its employees are safe.

New rules apply in your restaurant. The requirements will now be posted on Instagram.

“Basically, we posted yesterday evening that we would require our guests to have a vaccination and ID card or a negative test result. The decision is that many restaurant workers become infected with COVID even though they are vaccinated, ”said Miranda.

Miranda realized that this was inconvenient for many people.

“I know there will be some setbacks, but I think this is the safest thing for me, my co-workers and my family.” said Miranda.

Navy Strength in Belltown is one of several companies vaccinating workers who tested positive for COVID-19 and bar management said it was closed immediately.

They are joining a growing list of Seattle bars and restaurants that are now requiring their diners to show proof that they have been vaccinated.

“We started two days ago and most people really accepted it,” said Stephen Brenden of Liberty Bar. “If they don’t have the card with them or can’t find a photo, they run home or take a picture or ask for one Partner to send a photo. “

At the Liberty Bar, signs are clearly posted in its windows.

“I hope that more and more bars and restaurants will start doing this. We are with people all day. We want to be safe, we want to keep the neighborhood safe, ”said Brenden.
