Seattle Sounders sign French defender Abdoulaye Cissoko

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: signing

The Seattle Sounders have signed center-back Abdoulaye Cissoko to a one-year deal with club options for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, it was announced on Friday.

Cissoko spent the past preseason training with Seattle after impressing with the USL championship team Tacoma Defiance, his reserve team, during the 2020 season.

“It looks promising that another young player will perform well when given the opportunity to train in a first-team environment,” said Garth Lagerwey, general manager and president of football, in a press release. “AB is a talented defender who played as a member of Tacoma Defiance last year and has steadily improved. We look forward to his further development at the MLS level. “
