Last year, pride unfolds against a backdrop that is remarkably different from what we are used to. It was a summer of race reckoning and (so we don’t forget) there was this whole pandemic thing too. But among the darkest moments there have been victories too, like the Supreme Court making a historic decision to protect the rights of LGBTQ workers. Don’t get us wrong – the work is far from over, but this year Pride has new overtones. Washington is about to reopen. Events are back, like personal. We can hug again. For a month of celebrating and honoring the community, we hope you show up as you can, but no matter what, always like yourself.
