Pedestrian dies after being hit by a car in Everett

Adrian Van Wyck, 47, died in hospital on Saturday. The crash occurred on September 3rd on the Evergreen Way.

EVERETT – A man was identified as being hit by a car on Evergreen Way earlier this month.

Adrian Van Wyck, 47, of Everett, was walking near the 8500 block of Evergreen Way at around 3:30 p.m. on September 3 when he was hit by a car.

The Everett man walked west to east on Evergreen Way, Everett Police Department spokesman Aaron Snell said. Two cars stopped to wait for the man. A third driver – in a jeep – was on the right-hand side of the road, heading north. The driver didn’t see the pedestrian, said Snell, and his jeep drove into Van Wyck.

Van Wyck was taken to hospital where he died on September 11th. He died of blunt injuries, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s office said Tuesday afternoon. His death was determined to be an accident.

The driver of the jeep did not appear to be drunk at the time of the accident, Snell said.

Snell said the investigation was complete and no arrests had been made.
