$ 3 million bail for suspected getaways if the detective dies

VANCOUVER, Washington (AP) – A judge has placed $ 3 million bail on the alleged getaway driver in the murder of Clark County’s Sheriff Detective Jeremy Brown in East Vancouver, Washington.

Abran Raya Leon, 28, appeared in Clark County Superior Court Tuesday on suspicion of second degree murder, possession of a stolen gun and unlawful possession of a second degree gun, The Columbian reported. He is due to be indicted later this month.

His brother, Guillermo Raya Leon, 26, is accused of shooting Brown on July 23 when Brown was monitoring an unmarked Jeep SUV in a residential complex.

Guillermo Raya Leon was arrested two days later in Salem, Oregon and pleaded not guilty last week of grievous first degree murder and possession of a stolen firearm.

According to court records, police from several agencies monitored the brothers and Abran Raya Leon’s wife, Misty Raya, on July 23.

Raya, 35, is accused of breaking into a Hazel Dell storage unit in June and stealing around 30 firearms and 20,000-30,000 rounds of ammunition. She has pleaded not guilty of burglary, identity theft and gun theft in 32 cases.

Prosecutors told Judge Suzan Clark on Tuesday that the day before the shooting, a federal warrant was issued against Abran Raya Leon for turning off his GPS ankle monitor.
