MU’s Kovac sets record time | Mizzou Sport

The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams from Missouri ended the Mizzou Invite with another day of dominant performances. The Tigers consistently swam out of their competition and scored a total of 2,751 points for victory. The runner-up California Baptist fell well behind first place with 1,196 points.

Missouri’s Danny Kovac seemed to be getting better day by day and had his best performance on Friday. Kovac broke his 200 yard butterfly record with a school record time of 1: 40.78.

Kovac also won the men’s 400 free relay together with Jack Dahlgren, Grant Bochenski and Ben Patton (2: 50.75).

Other strong men’s performances included Dahlgren’s victory in the 200 back (1: 41.49), Patton’s victory in the 200 breaststroke (1: 53.00) to lead the nation in style, and Jack DuBois’ first place in 1650 yards Freewheel (15: 02.27).

The Missouri women’s team also continued to impress on Friday. The Tigers won five of the six events on Friday.

Allison Bloebaum continued her strength in the long distance swimming and won the 1650 yards (16: 26.94). Other strong performances came from Meredith Rees, who did the 200 back (1: 55.13), Amy Feddersen’s first place in the 100 free run (48.77), the victory of Katrina Braithwaite in the 200 breaststroke (2:12) , 20) and first place 400 in the free season from Feddersen, Sarah Thompson, Sierra Smith and Megan Keil (3: 16.45).

Missouri’s men and women scuba diving were big on the invitation’s final day of competition. For the women’s team, Sarah Rousseau secured third place in platform jumping with 277.50. In the men’s competition, Carlo Lopez won the platform jumping with a score of 370.70.

The swimming and diving of the Missoui men and women will begin again on December 4th in the state of Missouri.

Women’s Columbia Cross Country ranks 31st in the National Championships; Dukes runs 102.

The NAIA national cross-country team ended Friday morning with the women’s Columbia cross-country team finishing 31st in the nation out of 36 teams that raced in Fort Vancouver, Washington.

The Cougars scored 684 points in this event, with Mikayla Sehlmeyer leading the lead with a time of 19 minutes and 44.9 seconds, good enough for 118th place. Freshman Alyssa Bearzi from Milligan won the meeting with a time of 18: 14.9 and led the Buffaloes to a NAIA championship with 122 points

In the men’s category, the sole representative of the Cougars, Alexander Dukes, finished 102nd overall with a time of 26: 48.1 on the eight-kilometer route. The winning time belonged to Zouhair Talbi, who won with 24: 43.1. Milligan also won the men’s team title with 115 points for the Buffaloes.
