Seattle Prep 27, Blanchet 26

Blanchet looked like they could take out the fiery panthers who came into the game with a four-game winning streak as they controlled the first half. But Seattle Prep would shake off 27 unanswered points and win the game. Late in the second quarter, Blanchet’s Tyler Korman saw a safety and rebound from Luke Gardner on a 19-yard touchdown run to give the Braves a commanding 26-0 lead. Seattle Prep quarterback Jake Sype scored on a one yard run to breathe life into the Panthers as they went into halftime at 26-7. Seattle Prep bounced back in the second half when Breaden Smith took the initial kick-off for a touchdown 75 yards back and Sype linked up with Jack Velling on a 50-yard touchdown pass when the Panthers with just five points (26-21) drew more than 10 minutes in the game. Sype then linked up with Jack Blair on a 12 yard touchdown pass at 1:01 in the fourth quarter, ending a 27:26 win over Blanchet. Blanchet’s Luke Gardner averaged 6.1 yards per carry when he recorded 86 yards of rushing and a touchdown that night. With the win, Seattle Prep secured first place in the league’s mini-playoff series starting next week.

Eastside Catholic 28, Ballard 13

Eastside Catholic took a 21-7 lead when quarterback Kobe Muasau threw two touchdowns and ran for another in the first half. The Crusaders took the lead 28-7 after subrio Latin-Henley intercepted 100 yards for a touchdown.

O’Dea 49, Garfield 7th

The Fighting Irish improved to 4-2 by scoring 21 unanswered points early in the first quarter. Freshman Jason Brown scored two touchdowns in the first half while David Demenezes, Quinn Carolan, Georgios Kotsakis, Tajj Dyles and Hayden McDonald made their way to Paydirt as O’Dea built a 49-7 lead at halftime and to a win drove in the Metro League.
