Lions compete at the top of the Spokane

SPOKANE, WA. – The Loyola Marymount University Lions rowing team competed in their first regatta of the Fall program at the Head of the Spokane on Saturday morning.

In the first Lions race of the day, the 1V8 finished a time of 5:30 PM while the 2V8 finished a time of 5:42 PM. The first Lion boat to be crossed finished seventh overall, while the second finished ninth among the 12 participating boats.

In the second race the Lions in the 2v8 + boat finished second with a time of 18:23. Also in the 2V4 ‘A’ the Lions took second place with a time of 19:35. LMU’s 2V4 ‘B’ boat finished with a time of 19:44, good for fifth overall.

The Lions will end the fall with a scrimmage against UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, November 6th, before taking a break before the spring season begins in February.
