Kayak rentals from Little Spokane River

SPOKANE, Washington – St. George’s Put-In on the Little Spokane River is a popular spot for kayakers and paddleboarders. The 6-mile, 3-hour journey takes kayakers through pristine natural areas.

The Spokane City Parks Department is launching a new kayak rental program on the river this year. The program starts on July 3rd and takes place every weekend in summer from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Deputy Leisure Director Ryan Griffith said seats are already taken for the opening weekend.

Those with their own equipment can only use the shuttle service for $ 10. The shuttle departs from the 9 mile access point and then takes kayakers to the swimmer’s start in St. George’s.

Because the swimmer travels through the Washington State Park Natural Area, there are rules that kayakers must follow. Griffith said pets are not allowed and kayakers must stay in their boat at all times.
