LEWISTON, Idaho. (AP) – Authorities say one person died when a single-engine airplane crashed and caught in flames at an airport in western Idaho. The Lewiston Tribune reports that Lewiston Fire Department chief Travis Mykleust said the department responded to a plane crash at Lewiston-Nez Perce County Regional Airport at 12:11 p.m. on Saturday. Crews found the aircraft on fire. Mykleust says the fire was brought under control in a matter of minutes. First responders confirmed that one person was on board the plane and did not survive. Mykleust says no further information about the victim will be released until family members are notified. The authorities are investigating. According to official information, the airport will remain open.

VANCOUVER, Washington (AP) – Authorities say a sheriff’s deputy was fatally shot and killed on Friday in Vancouver, Washington. The Vancouver Police Department said two people have been arrested and the authorities are still looking for a third person. The Colombian reports that the shooting occurred around 7 p.m. in a residential complex in East Vancouver and that the deputy died in a local hospital. The Clark County Sheriff’s office identified the killed MP as Jeremy Brown, 46. No information was released about what happened during the incident. Vancouver Police Department spokesman Kim Kapp said the Southwest Washington Regional Major Crimes Team is investigating.

SPOKANE, Washington (AP) – Authorities say one person died and two others were injured in a shooting in a Spokane Valley bar. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says a fight and shooting was reported in Ichabod’s East at around 12:20 p.m. on Saturday. Authorities say MPs responded and provided medical assistance to a person in the parking lot before more shots could be heard a short distance away, leading to calls for additional law enforcement agencies. According to the authorities, one man was found dead in the bar and another man sustained life-threatening injuries. Sheriff officials say two men were arrested late Saturday for murder and assault.

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) – An Edmonds man was charged with setting cell phone cameras in a youth exercise toilet and possessing child pornography. The Daily Herald reports that Patrick Kunz was a trainer at the Leading Edge Gymnastics Academy in Everett, where he controlled the surveillance system. On December 9th, the indictments filed in Snohomish County Superior Court stated that a child had found a paper towel dispenser box with a hole leading to the toilet. Inside the hole, it is said that people saw the lens of a cell phone camera pointing outwards. A trainer told police that at least six girls used the toilet while the box was there. It was initially not known whether Kunz has a lawyer to comment.
