(NEW YORK) – Five people were killed and one hospitalized after a helicopter crash in an Alaskan glacier.

The Alaska Department of Public Safety said the Alaska State Troopers were briefed on Saturday evening of reports of an overdue helicopter and a crash in Knik Glacier, about 54 miles east of Anchorage.

The Alaska Rescue Coordination Center dispatched a rescue team and found five dead dead, the Department of Public Safety said.

One survivor was found and taken to a hospital. You will be in a serious but stable condition as of Sunday afternoon, the Ministry of Public Security said.

The Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Army National Guard, and Alaska Mountain Rescue Group attempted recovery efforts at the crash site Sunday, and officials said the National Transportation Safety Board will arrive soon to help investigate the crash.

A temporary flight restriction has been issued for Sunday through Monday as crews continue their rescue mission, officials said.
