Just a terrible defeat for the Winterhawks on Saturday, who lost 4-5 in overtime to the Victoria Royals and wasted a 52-18 shot advantage. They shot each other in the foot with soft goals, underpaid goals, and howls. The goalkeepers are the main concern of the team. Portland is the second worst record in the league, 5-5-2-1 if they overtake their opponents. It’s hard to evaluate anything else until this is found out.
You now end the pre-break with Everett and Spokane: two with Everett, both at home, and four with Spokane, two at home and two away. You are now as close to the last seat in the conference as you are to fourth. It could go either way.

O’Brien had two assists trying to get his season on track.
A series of 6 games for Dureau with 5 goals and 7 assists. However, he is only +1 in this section because he was on the ice for so many goals conceded (11 times in 6 games to be precise).

goalkeeper | |
---|---|
19th | 31-Dante Giannuzzi (48) |
18th | 70-hole Gordon (9) |
Gordon had the problems on Saturday when it looked like he was getting the most minutes. So back to the drawing board.
Save percentages: Giannuzzi .874, Gordon .896.
The tips come from their own game with goalkeeping problems and lose 6: 5 at home to Vancouver on Saturday evening, although they overtake the Giants with 49:28. For the first time this season, a goalkeeper had the hook, Koen MacInnes was pulled in the third period. So your last 10 days have been three losses to the BC Division teams and two losses to Tri-City and Spokane.
It’s their third game in three nights, and after a tough game, it’s a decent schedule for Portland.
