EVERETT, MASS. (WHDH) – Everett police shared a heat map showing recent coyote activity as residents across the state report increasing sightings.

Police determined that the card was used for educational purposes and was based on calls to service coyote sightings.

Everett Police Department

The public is urged to ensure that their rubbish is properly covered and secured as coyotes are known for foraging and are abundant in the urban area.

Anyone who comes across a coyote should make loud noises and not run away.

Pets should also be kept nearby and on a leash when walking.
