Donna Graves – Osceola-Sentinel Tribune

Donna Belle Graves, daughter of Roy Harrison Wilson and Mary Maude Baker Wilson was born March 19, 1929, in Osceola and passed from this life Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at her home in rural Woodburn at 93 years of age.

Donna received her early education from Lewis Country School near Woodburn, Iowa and later attended LeRoy High School and Osceola High School. Donna has lived many places in Clarke County and also a couple years in Gresham, Oregon where she met her husband, Eldon Claude Graves. They were united in marriage on Feb. 15, 1948, at Vancouver, Washington, and four children, Rick, Chuck, Cinda and Shelly blessed this union.

Donna worked as a homemaker for much of her life but also worked in the retail industry for over 17 years, retiring in 2000.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, embroidery, square dancing, country music, baking (especially pies) and was proud to be able to can much of her gardening harvest for her family. However, Donna especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Those relatives who preceded Donna in death were her parents, husband, Eldon Graves; brother, Gary Wilson, sister in law Marilyn Wilson and niece, Vicki Wilson Mason.

Donna leaves to cherish her memory; son, Rick (Valerie) Graves of Bella Vista, AR, son, Chuck (Linda) Graves of Osceola, daughter, Cinda (David) Downing of Woodburn, daughter, Shelly (Doug) May of Woodburn, grandchildren, Ryan (Holly) Graves of Bixby, OK, Mark (Serene) Graves of Bella Vista, AR, Paul (Jessica) Graves of Osceola, Emmi (Nathan) Binning of Woodburn, David (Erin) Van Dyke of Norfolk, VA, Tom (Amy) Van Dyke of Iowa City, Richard (Nancy) Van Dyke of Grimes, Nicole (Ryan) Burdock of Adel, Amantha (Eric) Bair of Holdrege, NE, Allyssa (Bryce) Richards of Dallas, TX, Ariella May of Salt Lake City, UT, Zethann May of Woodburn, great-grandchildren, Price and Maccoy Graves of Bixby, OK, Janessa Davis and Cadence Graves of Bella Vista, AR, Miah, Lilian, Gracie and Bryce Graves of Osceola, Tyler, Cole and Remington Binning of Woodburn, Isabella ( Payton) Newell of Ames, Victoria (John) Dutson of Rexburg, ID, Dayne and Peyton Van Dyke of Iowa City, Megan and Charlie Van Dyke of Grimes, Ellie and Ryder Burdock of Adel, Parker, Reed, Luke and Lane Bair of Holdrege, NE; great-great-grandchild, Georgie Newell of Ames; brother, Larry (Nancy) Wilson of Tucson, AZ, sister-in-law Deloris Moran of Osceola, as well as many nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Services were held at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 11:00 am.

The family greeted friends from 10 am to 11 am Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

A live stream of the service will be available at www.kalefuneralhome.com on Donna’s tribute wall beginning at 11 am, Tuesday.

Interment will be in the Woodburn Cemetery.
