Columbus Crew acquire Jake Morris in trade with Seattle Sounders

Jake Morris began playing soccer growing up in Florida with Weston FC before joining the Seattle academy, where he played from 2016-18 and made four appearances for USL championship affiliates Seattle Sounders 2 (later renamed the Tacoma Defiance). He enjoyed a distinguished stint at Tyler Junior College before finishing his collegiate career at Campbell University, where he scored seven goals and provided nine assists in 28 games.

This week, Columbus also signed homeland midfielder Sean Zawadzki and free-agent defender Jalil Anibaba in a bid to recover from a 2021 season that saw the club miss the Audi 2021 MLS Cup playoffs.
