Former San Antonio Anchor Joins Seattle Station

Aaron Wright has joined Seattle CBS affiliate KIRO as an evening host.

Wright left the KENS San Antonio station in December. He will join Monique Ming Lavan at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m

“I’m excited to join the experienced team at KIRO 7 and bring meaningful, in-depth reporting to our community,” said Wright.

KIRO news director Tara Feinstein said the station had conducted “an extensive nationwide search for its new anchor.”

“It was important that we found the right person,” Finestone said. “Aaron believes in the power of community, the responsibility of making sure people’s voices are heard, and the importance of earning viewers’ trust. Without a doubt, it fits perfectly with the values and mission of the KIRO 7 newsroom.”

Wright joins KIRO from KENS in San Antonio, Texas. He began his career at WREX in Rockford, Illinois, where he worked as a photographer, reporter and presenter. He also worked at WBIR in Knoxville, Tennessee.
