Carolyn Becker Obituary (1953-2021) – Napa, CA

Carolyn Diane Becker

1953-2021

On Sunday, July 11th, 2021 we said goodbye to Carolyn Diane Becker in tears at the age of 67.

Carolyn fought valiantly against ovarian cancer for four years before dying at her home in Clark County, Washington. Carolyn spent her final moments in the loving arms of her devoted husband David, holding her son Jeremy’s hand. Carolyn is a beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother and friend.

Carolyn was born on October 27, 1953 in Vancouver, Washington. She moved to Napa, California with parents Carol and Vance Tourville in 1963, where she spent most of her childhood and attended Napa High School. In 1979 she moved back to Vancouver, where she met the love of her life David R. Becker shortly after her return and remained inseparable until her death.

Carolyn had many interests and hobbies. She loved making wedding dresses and formal dance dresses for family and friends. Carolyn is known to be fashion conscious with a love, if not an obsession for beautiful shoes. Carolyn has shown herself at her best every day.

Carolyn loved designing and landscaping her 20-acre garden. During the spring and summer months, Carolyn often spent the time visiting various nurseries and taking home beautiful species of plants and trees. She spent countless hours trimming the landscape on her lawnmower with her Burmese mountain dog, Bentley.

Carolyn loved traveling with her husband David, and they often did. From cruises to Alaska and airplanes to Hawaii to annual RV trips to Yellowstone and tons of trips to Disneyland.

Carolyn has always made the holidays extra special. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she spent an entire month bringing the Christmas cheer into her home, inside and out. It wasn’t uncommon to see her on a very tall ladder adorning her 14 inch tree, or outside with lights hanging on her trees and at home.

She leaves behind her loving husband David Becker Jr., her son Jeremy and her daughter-in-law Brooke Becker and her stepdaughter Maria Weitz, the grandchildren of son-in-law Jack Weitz Leif, Gage and Oliver. Her mother Carol Tourville, her sisters Madonna Cochran, Roberta Bernhardt and Debra Jarrell and two brothers, Sam and Brian Tourville and their spouses. She will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and their loyal dog Bentley and their two cats Naughty and Nice.

Carolyn had a special request that all attendees in her service and celebration of life wear lighter colors.
