Atty, who shot and killed the drunk Oregon company, evades disbarment

Law360 (April 26, 2021, 1:22 p.m. EDT) – An attorney who was drunk and fired a gun into another attorney’s office and narrowly missed an employee inside should be able to try again, according to a recently released report working as a lawyer ruling by the Oregon Supreme Court.

In a suspension order, the seven-member court admitted that the lawyer had been expelled in every previous case involving serious criminal behavior. However, the circumstances of Erik Graeff’s misconduct and his personal history are so “factually dissimilar” that they offer “little support unless they confirm that a longer suspension period is appropriate in the most serious cases,” the court said . …
