Arrest made in Parkrose Neighborhood Double Shooting

Since the April 26 double shooting near Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Northeast 96th Avenue, detectives from the Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) have been conducting follow-up investigations.

On Monday, May 24, 2021, ECST applied for and received an arrest warrant against Tejay Nunya Castle (31) in connection with this case. Mr. Castle’s arrest warrant contained the following charges related to the shooting: second degree attempted murder (2 counts), first degree attempted (2 counts) attack, second degree attack (2 counts), illegal use of a weapon? Firearm (2 counts), felon in possession of a firearm, second degree criminal mischief (3 counts).

Vancouver police located Mr. Castle and arrested him in Vancouver, Washington, on the evening of May 24, 2021. Vancouver arrested and booked Castle on the PPB warrant and unrelated allegations related to a shooting in the street: https://www.flashalert.net/id/VancouverPD

Mr. Castle is currently in custody in Clark County. Extradition proceedings are pending.

At 7:01 p.m. on Monday, April 26, 2021, North Precinct officials on the 9500 block of Northeast Sandy Boulevard responded with a report of a shooting. The officers arrived on site and located two victims who were suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators from the Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) reacted to the scene. This case is still being investigated.
