Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts shared photos of her stoma pouch after she was diagnosed with colon cancer.

The 42-year-old former I’m A Celebrity star announced last week that she had been diagnosed with the disease and was about to undergo surgery to remove a tumor.

As a result of the treatment, an ostomy pouch was fitted to her, which helps remove waste from the body if it cannot be passed completely through the intestines.

Roberts shared the new addition to her body and lifted her surgical gown to reveal the gray pouch that was attached to her stomach.

In addition to collecting photos taken when she was discharged from the hospital, Roberts praised the NHS for its lifesaving work.

She wrote, “I think this is my all time favorite selfie. I’m bullshit about selfies, but I loved doing this one. I have bruises … I keep finding new holes, but I’m recovering and that little stoma pocket saved my life.

“I’m still learning to take care of it. So far it has been a roller coaster ride. I feel like I need a trainer to help me tame it. It is wild! Haha. It does what it wants, when it wants to … but I’m sure I can do it. Get ready, Kate, because our new house guest seems very naughty. “

“I admit it was overwhelming at times,” added the star. “A lot that I have to absorb. It all went so quickly from diagnosis to treatment, but that’s the brilliance of the NHS.

“I am so grateful to you and I know that I am very happy.”

Roberts continued to thank fans for their continued support after their diagnosis was announced, and urged others to get evaluated if they experienced symptoms.

“I have to wait a little longer to hear about my tumor and what it will mean for the future, but keep my fingers crossed, it’s good news,” she concluded. “Either way, I’m grateful for one of them. It reminded me to LIVE LIFE. “

She later made her new fashion accessory easy by getting her followers to help her choose between gray, beige, or black.

After giving the options, she went for the public vote and opted for gray.

Her optimism about the diagnosis has been praised by fans and her celebrity friends who have flocked to offer their support.

Nadine Coyle called Roberts “Our strong, brave girl,” while her Radio 1 co-star Matt Edmondson wrote, “You are amazing Adele. Send all the love in the world. “
