VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) – The wrestling coach at a high school in Vancouver, Wash., is outside with a minor after his arrest on suspicion of assault.

According to a probable cause affidavit, deputies from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office were called to Jess Pritchard’s home Jan. 18 and found a bleeding youth with what appeared to be a broken nose, The Columbian reported.

Pritchard, 48, was sentenced to the Clark County Jail and made his first appearance before the Clark County Superior Court on Jan. 19. He was charged with second-degree assault, released on his personal credit, and ordered not to have direct contact with any minor involved. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.

Pritchard is the District Resource Officer at Skyview High School, where he was also a wrestling coach. Vancouver Public Schools spokesman Pat Nuzzo confirmed Pritchard remains employed in the district but is no longer training.
